Obituary

Carole Ann Duquette, (McLaughlin), departed this life on February 9, 2024, at the age of 84 in Utica, New York. She was born in 1939, in Plattsburgh, NY, to Lorraine Senecal and Edward "Mac" McLaughlin. Carole is survived by her loving spouse, Maynard "Dennis" Duquette; daughter Lori Dalton, and her husband Justin Dalton; granddaughter, Caitlyn Dalton; stepson Christopher Duquette, and his wife Alice Duquette; step-granddaughters Gabriella-Marie Terrell and Kaylee Ryan; sister Colleen "Kelly" Keis,  and her husband Bob Keis; and nieces Stephanie and Mistine Keis. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her spouse James Gilbert, and her children Juliana and Edward Gilbert.


Carole was a hard worker, often juggling three or more jobs while being a devoted mother to her three children. She was known for her wonderful dancing skills, particularly the Jitterbug and Polka, which left many old friends with lovely memories. Carole also had a passion for gardening and maintained a garden full of beautiful flowers.


In her career, Carole worked as a waitress at Fort Schuyler Club, Clinton House Restaurant, and Barady's Bakery. Later in life, she transitioned into real estate and became a realtor at Town and City Realty.


Carole worshipped at Living Faith Bible Church.


A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Monday  April 15, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.  at Living Faith Bible Church,2922 Oneida St. Sauquoit, N.Y. Following the ceremony, a reception will take place after the service, at the church. Carole will be laid to rest at Crown Hill alongside her family at a private ceremony.
