Ms. Barbara Shaari Handelsman joined family and friends who had gone before her when she passed away on December 4, 2018.  She was born in Brooklyn NY, the eldest daughter of Philip and Sylvia E. Handelsman. The family relocated to Passaic, NJ when Barbara was a toddler, and she was raised and educated there.

Always astute, Barbara succeeded in any venture she tried.  She was the owner operator of several successful businesses, including Stacey's Yarn Boutique, Thor Transport, Miss Molly's Mixed Bag and Waggin' Tails Dog Training School. She was an LPN and was employed by the Eastern Star Home and later, Presbyterian Home for CNY.

Barbara was well known in the Canine Obedience World where she trained and competed along with her daughter.  She was "Mom" to, and loved by so many of her "dog friends."

Barbara is survived by and greatly missed by her daughter, Stacey H. Eastman, son in law David B. Eastman, and her sister, Peggy Handelsman, all of Rome, NY. She also leaves behind her beloved fur kids, Alex, Ivy Jane and Ziva.
