Anthony "
Mouse" Olivadoti
September 4, 2023
Anthony "Mouse" Olivadoti, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday September 4, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones at St. Luke's Home. Anthony was the son of the late Peter J. and Theresa (Gigliotti) Olivadoti in Utica, NY. Anthony was raised in a very tight knit Italian family, where the emphasis was always on loved ones. Anthony was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School where he excelled in athletics, especially taking part in baseball and basketball.
Anthony was a proud member of the Teamsters. He drove truck for the entirety of his career for Carparelli Brothers, where he eventually retired. Anthony also was a very successful entrepreneur owning several local area establishments, including The Corner Lounge, Joey's Restaurant along with business partner and friend Joe Swider, and later owning and operating Anthony's Restaurant and Bar.
Anthony loved a game of chance, especially when it came to sports. He had a great love for basketball and especially baseball. Nothing made him happier than to watch his grandchildren partake in his favorite pastimes. He was their biggest supporter and fan, and a proud Dance Poppa for his beloved Tori. Anthony loved to give back to youth in the area. In adulthood, he sponsored many local underprivileged athletes, covering the cost of basketball camps to enhance their abilities, which would otherwise not have been possible.
Anthony was blessed to be able to call Vero Beach, Florida his second home. He thoroughly enjoyed his "snow bird" winters, as well as frequent trips to one of his favorite places, Las Vegas. Anthony loved horses, OTB and breakfast at his spot The Marr-Logg.
Anthony is survived by his two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Jennifer (Reilly) Olivadoti and Michael's mother Virginia Gigliotti, who was very close to Mouse and was by his side until his very last breath, Anthony and Jodi (Cofano) Olivadoti, and Anthony's mother Patti (Talerico) Olivadoti, with whom Mouse shared many cherished years and countless memories with. Anthony's life was forever changed when he lost his infant daughter Theresa, and the very sudden loss of his son Joey Olivadoti on December 30, 1994. Anthony is also survived by the loves of his life, and his reason for living, grandchildren, Michael and Tori Olivadoti, twin grandsons Justin and Joseph Olivadoti. Anthony is also survived by his niece who was like a daughter to him, who was at his side, Dawn (Vatalaro) Yearby and her husband Joe, and nephew Richard Vatalaro. Anthony had a very close relationship with his cousins including Jeanne Castronovo and Dianna Piperata. Known for his generous nature, Mouse was true to those that he loved, and if he was celebrating all that he was close to were also celebrating. He knew the love and loyalty of many friends who were family. He is also survived by his special friends David and Donna Guido and family, Benny and Michele Rappa, both who he loved like sons, as well as friends Bobby Gerace of Las Vegas, NV, Joe Swider, Sandra and Jeff Reilly, Vic Piperata, Lenny Capuana, Joe Dellerba, Humbert and Eleanor Colucci, Joseph Taurisani, Joe Rocco and many other close friends, too numerous to mention. A special thank you to Lindsay Guido for all her help and support.
Anthony was predeceased by his beloved sister Mary Ann (Olivadoti) Vatalaro, special Uncle Tony (TO) Olivadoti, cousin Victor Olivadoti and in-laws Jack and Lydia Cofano, Cosmo Saraceno, Darby Longo, Anthony "Bull" Fabbio, Joseph "Buddy" Gigliotti, and Hank DiPerna, Carmen Tripolone, Tony Rocco and Bobby Conley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to John L. Matt of John L. Matt Funeral Home, for the friendship and love for our father in both life and death. Also a special thanks to Dr. Pileman and the staff of the St. Luke's Home for the care and compassion they provided to Anthony during his time there.
