Annie May Tarboro, 99, of Norfolk, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, August 23. Annie May Hatcher was born July 21, 1915, in Ararat, Va., to Jessie Lee Hatcher and Jennie Lee France Hatcher. She attended a one-room school in Patrick County and Clarks Creek Baptist Church. She married John Edward Tarboro Sr. in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1981. As a young child, Mrs. Tarboro accepted Christ and joined the church. She was a homemaker, excellent cook, loving mother and devoted wife. She made sure that her children knew the Lord. She was preceded in death also by her brothers; James Hatcher, Elliot Hatcher Sr., Charles Hatcher Sr.; a sister, Cynthia Ida Hatcher Boykins; and a grandson, John Tarboro III. Survivors include a sister, Jennie Shaw, Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Pamela and son-in-law Richard Scott; a son, John and daughter-in-law Audrey Tarboro, Jr.; two granddaughters, Monica Plumber, and Barbara Mary Tarboro, both of Norfolk; two grandsons, Maxwell Outlaw, of Syracuse, NY, and Jerome Tarboro, of Norfolk; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
