AnnaMarie DeStefano Gentile,76, of New Hartford, NY, departed this life on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with her loved ones by her side.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late James R. and (Carmella Zasa) DeStefano and was educated in Utica schools and a graduate of TR Proctor High School, Class of 1966.

She was very active in TR Proctor High School and was in the Homecoming Court, which was one of her proudest moments. She started her working career at Oneida National Bank. She  raised her  family and later worked as a playground monitor  at Myles Elementary School where the children adored her. Then she worked at Prudential and was lastly employed as the Office Manager for the late Dr. Joseph Cozza for many years.

AnnaMarie was kind, generous and loving and if she wasn't a part of your life, you missed out on someone special.

She  will be sadly missed by her family: daughter, Melissa Gentile and son-in-law, Michael Faccioli; her son, Christopher Gentile and Stephanie Marcucio; her beloved granddaughter, Gianna Marie Gentile Faccioli; dear friends, Angela Meola and Kay Custodero; many loving cousins and friends in Cleveland and Utica, and especially acknowledging her cousins Irene  Zasa Willett, Patricia "Patti"  Zasa Jweid and  Delores Zasa Caruso and special members of the Gentile family.

She was predeceased by her son, Steven J. Gentile; her former spouse and friend, Santo "Sam" Gentile; three special aunts who raised her, Rose Zasa, Philomenia Tofalo and Anne Zasa; and also remembering  the deceased members of the  DeStefano, Zasa and Gentile Families.

AnnaMarie's Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m at Mary, Mother Our Savior Parish Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee St., Utica, NY where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Jason Hage, Pastor. There will be at time to  greet the family after the mass. Interment will be at St Agnes Cemetery, Utica, N Y. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to St. Jude's Hospital, envelopes will be  available at the church.
