August 6, 1952 – February 23, 2024
Alan A. Alguire, 71, of Cassville, formerly of Gouverneur NY, passed away on the sunniest day of the week with his loving family by his side. Alan was born in Gouverneur, NY however lived most of his life in Utica, attending Kernan School and UFA. Prior to his failing health, Al loved to hunt and fish and especially loved his life on the river in Gouverneur. He worked several years in floor maintenance at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and as custodian for First Presbyterian Church and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Utica, NY. His greatest pleasure was as a house painter, his work was professional and precise as it was in his nature to be a perfectionist.
Alan leaves to mourn, the love of his life Susie and three beautiful daughters, Alyson(Jamie)Colosimo and children Alyssa(Tyler), great grandson, Mason; Alexa and Joey; Gina(William) Quesnell, children Nathan, Dylan and Connor; Amy Alguire(Amanda); his traveling river buddy(Godson) Christopher(Jody) Hulsaver and son Aidan and fur babies, Makayla and Sadie. He also leaves his sister Melanie Platt of Oriskany, NY and his childhood best friend from the north country Albert (Hearttack) Redmond, several nieces and nephews with special mention of his great niece Angelina Dziura. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold(Auggie) Alguire and Mavis Adams Gonser, sister Wendy Goldenstein, brother in law Jerome Platt and best friend Greg Boehlert.
Alan's family honored his life at a private time as per his wishes. There will be a gathering forthcoming later this year and will be announced on this website.
