Karney A. Seymour,82,of Rome,NY departed this life on Thursday April 28, with his love ones at his side. He was born in Malone,NY on October 12,1939, the son of the late Harry and Clara Revette Seymour. Karney was educated in Rome schools and enlisted in the US Army in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1964.During that time he met Patience W. Weigandt at the Drum Roller Rink in Rome, NY. They later married on November 7, 1959 at St John's Lutheran Church where Reverend Pastor Borriack officiated the double ring ceremony.
Karney was employed as a welder at Pettibone and Rome Cable and later on drove for VIP. He loved riding his motorcycle, golfing, hunting and spending time with the love of his life and family. His greatest gift was his caring heart and would give to anyone in need. He loved to sing especially at Church Emanuel Baptist until he became ill. Dad is now singing with the Angels.
Karney is survived by his beloved wife Patience and his children whom he loved and cherished. Stephanie Weinke, Jacksonville, Fl., Renee and Dan Anderson, Green Cove Springs, Fl., Tracey Seymour, Lee Center and Erica Brandal, Blossvale, NY. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Karney A. Seymour, Jr., on March 3 2022 and his grandson Craig L Brandal, on August 27, 1993.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Delpino, Dr. Abasi and staff, Dr Spinelli and his special nurse Sarah, whom bonded with Karney and took the time to touch his heart, as his office cared for him in his time of need. Many thanks to Dr. James Vanderhoof and staff at Oneida Healthcare for the compassion and caring towards Karney, his wife and family, especially acknowledging ICU nurses, Marqurite and Kent, and the entire staff.
A Celebration of life for Karney with military honors conferred will be held Saturday May 28, 2022 at 12 noon at Immanuel Baptist Church,1006 West Embargo St. Rome, NY 13340, where the Rev.Ian J. Banks will officiate.
